The Gran Prix - Sick Puppies (96)

Shattering the old single season record with a dizzying, 96 points, the Pups had a memorable year.   [MORE DESCRIPTION LATER]

The Perriman Pennant - Humorbid, Sick Puppies (24)

Rookie of the Year - 'Lil Binks

A neck-and-neck battle for the best Newbie award went to 'Lil Binks, daughter of Game legend Binky Brown.  The junior Binks put the competition away with a late-year hit on actor Pat Cranshaw, most recently known for his role in Will Farrell's Old School.  While we imagine her writing out her list and thinking "You're my boy, Blue", we will never know, as the tempestuousness of youth led her to cut-and-run, and not re-enlist for the 2006 game.

Doc's Diploma for Class List - Tim Ormortis

The Silver Bobcat - Humorbid

11 year Gamester, Humorbid, snared his first Silver Bobcat with a hit on evolutionary biologist Ernst Mayr.  While it was his first silver statuette, Humorbid made it memorable by missing the world-record for earliest Bobcat by just one week.

Reaper Ribbon for High QPA - Bury Pranksters (4.71)

[DESCRIPTION LATER]

Clete's Cup for Low QPA - Fire Ants  (1.00)

Fire Ants broke Greyfriars Bobby's recent stranglehold on the Clete's Cup, tying the record low QPA that she had set in 1998.

The Buffalo Cup - 2 Dead Crew, Titicus Andronicus

In a year where points were free-flowing, only the gangster-rap heavy 2 Dead Crew and newbie Titucus Andronicus rang in the next year's game with their dance cards empty.

Hit of the Year - Necro Wafers on Peter Jennings

When Peter Jennings announced in late 2004 that he would be giving up his anchor chair on April 1, 2005, most Gamesters yawned, but not Necro Wafers.  When four days after his last broadcast, Jennings announced that he had lung cancer, most other Gamesters quickly penciled in Jennings on their 2006 Warm-up Lists.  But, by then, it was too late.  When Jennings went off the air permanently on August 7, Necro Wafers notched a nifty front-page solo that reminded the rest of us that hunches and good intuition can carry the day, and was appropriately awarded the Ghostie.

Let's look at the Top Ten for 2005.
