"Bag Day" is the day the winning gamester scores enough points to bag the Gran Prix. The record for the earliest Bag Day was set by Dr. Death on April 10, 1972. The record for widest Margin of Victory was set by The Sick Puppies in 1988, with a 34-point bulge.

The Game has ended in a tie three times. In 1977, D. Perriman Sr. tied a devastated G. Conway on December 26th, just one day after she had taken the lead with visions of glory shimmering before her eyes. She would never recover. In 1978, P. Marsch and D. Perriman Jr. each hit the 33-point mark in mid-November and then stalled, gliding to a tie. In 1981, Pontius piled up 41 points by mid-July, but was gripped by a scoreless paralysis and watched in frozen horror as D. Perriman Jr. crawled slowly up the standings and tied him in mid-November. Exhausted, neither scored again that year.

The narrowest Margin of Victory was that of G. Reaper, who died in April of 1994. But his list carried on valiantly, through summer and fall, and on November 20th, it finally inched past the leading Sick Puppies by one slim point and then, amazingly, held onto that tenuous lead for 41 days to win the 1994 Gran Prix, posthumously, in a hugely popular victory.
